How this works
We check the words in the message against fixed rules for scam patterns that government advisories and companies have documented. No AI reads your message: fixed rules decide, and every warning shows you the words that triggered it.
Earlier versions, tested on example messages we wrote from public reports and new to the rules, caught between two in three and four in five scams. A clean result never means an offer is safe.
We say "Stop" only for what no honest employer asks: your OTP or PIN, the use of your bank account or SIM, or money sent to a UPI ID or phone number. Everything else is a warning sign to check.
What we look for
- Asking you to pay: a registration, training, laptop or joining fee, a deposit, a UPI ID or a QR code.
- Asking for an OTP, UPI PIN, password or card details.
- Paying you to like videos, rate hotels or finish 'tasks'.
- Moving the conversation to Telegram or WhatsApp.
- A recruiter writing from a personal Gmail or Yahoo address, or a website that imitates a known company.
- A job with no interview, or an 'interview' only by chat.
- Pressure to act within minutes or hours.
- Aadhaar, PAN or bank details asked for before any interview.
- High pay per day for part-time or work-from-home jobs with no clear role.
- A 'guaranteed' job or placement for a fee.
What we cannot do
- We cannot confirm that a company, recruiter or job is real.
- A message with no warning signs can still be a scam.
- We never call a named company a scam. We point out patterns in a message.
- When in doubt, find the company's official careers website on your own and check the job there.
