How the test works
Wipro's flagship fresher/campus hiring runs through the National Talent Hunt (NLTH), branded ELITE (base track, ~3.5 LPA) and TURBO (premium track, ~5.5-6.5 LPA + retention bonus in some drives). Both use the SAME online-assessment shell: one ~128-minute proctored test, delivered on the Superset platform (webcam-proctored, AMCAT-style engine), with three parts - Aptitude (48 min, a single combined block of Quant + Logical + Verbal with no strict sub-section timers), Written Communication/Essay (20 min, 1 topic), and Coding (60 min, 2 programs in C/C++/Java/Python). Elite vs Turbo is a DIFFICULTY difference, not a structural one: Elite = standard aptitude + easier coding; Turbo = 'advanced' aptitude + harder (medium/hard) coding. Strong Elite performers are frequently invited to a Turbo upgrade test. How it actually behaves: the test is ADAPTIVE (question difficulty shifts with your performance) and has NO inter-sectional navigation - once a section begins/submits you cannot go back. Most current sources report NO negative marking in aptitude and coding (essay penalized after ~5 errors); a minority of older pages mention negative marking, so treat this as drive-dependent and confirm on your notification. Recent-cycle variation worth flagging: some drives - certain campus slots or non-core/service roles - run a SHORTER ~60-minute version (roughly 20 aptitude questions + 1 essay, NO coding round), so the coding round is not guaranteed on every notification. After the OA, shortlisted candidates proceed to a Technical Interview and an HR / Business-Discussion round. Exact per-section question counts (the widely-cited Quant ~16 / Logical ~14 / Verbal ~18 split) and cutoffs are aggregated from prep portals, are NOT officially published by Wipro, and shift between cycles.
What to prep
- Quantitative aptitude for speed - arithmetic-heavy: percentages, profit & loss, time & work, time-speed-distance, ratios, averages, SI/CI, permutation-combination and probability (aim to solve fast, ~1 min/question)
- Logical reasoning - number/letter series, coding-decoding, blood relations, seating arrangement, syllogisms, directions
- Verbal/English - grammar, error spotting, sentence correction, reading comprehension, para-jumbles
- Essay writing practice - write a clean, structured ~200-word essay in 20 minutes with minimal grammar/spelling errors; drill intro-body-conclusion structure
- Coding - solve 2 problems in 60 min: master arrays, strings, patterns and basic logic for Elite; add recursion, sorting/searching, greedy and basic DP for Turbo. Pick ONE language (C/C++/Java/Python) and be fluent in its I/O and edge-case handling
- Do previous-year Wipro NLTH/Elite papers and full-length timed mocks (PrepInsta / FacePrep) to get used to the adaptive, no-back-navigation Superset interface
- Meet eligibility hygiene: typically 60% (or 6.0-6.5 CGPA) across 10th/12th/degree, no active backlogs - confirm on the notification
Cut-offs & eligibility (indicative)
No officially published cutoff. Prep portals estimate roughly 60-65% per section, with individual sub-section cutoffs (Quant/Logical/Verbal) also applied - you generally must clear each, not just the aggregate. Treat these figures as indicative only; actual cutoffs are set per drive/college and are not disclosed by Wipro. Turbo cutoffs are effectively higher (harder paper for the same/upgraded package).
