How the test works
Current (2025-26 cycle) GenC hiring is ONE funnel feeding all three tracks - GenC (~4 LPA), GenC Pro (~5.4 LPA), GenC Next (~6.75 LPA); you are slotted into a track by performance + eligibility + college accreditation, not by a separate exam. The OA is a sequential, proctored, sectionally-timed test (mostly on the Superset platform / a locked browser) with NO negative marking. ORDER MATTERS: (1) Communication Assessment comes FIRST, is AI/voice-graded and elimination-only - it fails the most candidates and is the real gate; (2) Quantitative + Game-Based Aptitude; (3) Technical/Coding Assessment where you pre-select ONE cluster (Java+Web, Python+Cloud, or C#+Web) and solve coding + SQL + a web task + cloud MCQs; (4) Technical + HR interview for those who clear the OA. RECENT CHANGES: the old 'Automata Fix' (7 buggy snippets) and standalone Code Debugging rounds have largely been dropped/absorbed into the cluster-based Technical Assessment; coding was briefly removed a couple of cycles ago and reinstated in this cluster form; Communication shifted to an AI automated voice assessment as the first elimination gate; delivery moved onto Superset. IMPORTANT CAVEAT: exact question counts and per-section timers genuinely differ between sources, batches, on- vs off-campus drives, and the three tracks - e.g. aptitude is variously reported as 30 vs 40 quant questions and 30 vs 80 minutes, communication as ~55 vs 60 minutes, and total OA time is quoted anywhere from ~135 min to ~283 min. GenC Next/Pro run harder (deeper DSA, advanced coding) than base GenC. Treat the numbers here as the representative current shape, not exact per-drive values.
What to prep
- Spoken/AI English FIRST - fluency, clear pronunciation, listen-and-repeat, speaking 60s on a topic, grammar/sentence correction: this round eliminates the most people
- Core quantitative aptitude across the full syllabus (percentages, ratio, P&L, TSD, time-work, P&C, probability, number system, mixtures)
- Game-based/logical reasoning - practice the ~24 game types (Deductive/Inductive logic, Grid, Motion, Switch, Digit, BART) for speed and reaction
- Coding in your chosen language (C/C++/Java/Python): arrays, strings, searching/sorting, basic DSA, patterns
- SQL queries - joins, aggregates, filtering, subqueries
- Cluster-specific stack: HTML/CSS/JS for web clusters OR cloud-computing fundamentals for the Python+Cloud cluster
- Interview prep: DSA, DBMS, OOP, projects/resume, and HR/behavioural answers
- Time management - sections are individually timed and the technical round packs a lot into 120 min
