How the test works
Capgemini's current fresher hiring runs under the "Exceller" brand and the OA is delivered on the Superset platform. The current 2025-2026 pattern is a multi-section battery, typically in this order: (1) Technical MCQ (pseudocode + IT fundamentals, ~40 Q / ~40 min), (2) English Communication (MCQ grammar, or an essay at some drives - elimination), (3) Game-Based Aptitude / cognitive games (4 games drawn from a pool of 24), and (4) a Behavioral Competency / psychometric test. A separate Coding (Level-2) round applies ONLY to the higher-package Senior Analyst / A4(P)-A5 track. The four scored non-coding sections together run roughly 90-105 minutes. RECENT CHANGES: Capgemini replaced its older format (traditional quantitative + logical reasoning aptitude, and the WET/essay-only writing test) with the game-based cognitive assessment (which now stands in for quant/logical) and a dedicated English Communication MCQ round; the Behavioral Competency section was added in the 2025 cycle. IMPORTANT VARIANCE: the exact section list, question counts, durations, and whether English appears as MCQ vs essay differ between on-campus and off-campus drives, by graduating batch, and by role/track. Some drives still surface traditional aptitude or an essay; some fold the behavioral test inside Round 1 while others run it separately. Two fresher tracks exist: Analyst (~4-4.5 LPA) and Senior Analyst (~6.5-7.5 LPA, which requires clearing the coding round). Treat the counts/durations above as representative, not guaranteed.
What to prep
- Pseudocode output-tracing: grind C/C++ dry-run problems (loops, arrays, pointers, recursion, operator precedence)
- IT fundamentals MCQs: DBMS/SQL, Computer Networks, OS, Cloud basics, OOPS
- Practice the 24 game-based cognitive games specifically (PrepInsta has the game bank) so the mechanics don't surprise you on the clock
- English: grammar rules, error-spotting, vocabulary, comprehension; also draft a few 180-220 word essays in ~25 min in case the writing format is used
- Behavioral/psychometric: answer consistently and honestly - don't overthink the forced-choice pairs
- DSA coding (2 problems) ONLY if targeting the Senior Analyst / higher-package track - arrays, strings, math, basic algorithms in your best language
- Time management: sections are individually timed and some auto-advance; the games in particular are ~5-6 min each with no going back
Cut-offs & eligibility (indicative)
No official cutoffs are published by Capgemini. Prep sources describe hidden sectional cutoffs and note that the English Communication round is an elimination gate (fail it and you cannot proceed). The Coding/Level-2 round is unlocked only for candidates who clear a combined threshold on the earlier rounds plus academic performance, for the higher-package Senior Analyst track. Treat any specific percentage cutoffs seen online as unverified.
